Summer Cramer piled on 27 points in a lopsided 62-34 Watseka win against Momence on Thursday. She scored 18 in the first half alone as the Warriors charged out to a 38-15 lead by halftime.
Kennedy Bauer added 10 points and and eight rebounds, Magan Harris scored 9 with eight rebounds, and Mallory Drake grabbed a team-high 12 boards in the Sangamon Valley Conference win.
Despite the loss, Momence had something to celebrate of its own as senior guard Matti Lanie scored her 1,000th career point in the first quarter. Lanie finished the game with a team-high 16 points, and Mya Keen scored 11.
The Warriors remain unbeaten at 10-0 overall and 3-0 in the SVC, and Momence dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
St. Anne 43, Tri-Point 42
Gracie O’Brien and Brandi Chase each turned in double-doubles for St. Anne in a River Valley Conference win.
O’Brien led the way with 15 points and 14 rebounds, and Chase added 13 of each.
The Cardinals held the lead for most of the game, surrendered it late, then were able to come back and win it in the final seconds. St. Anne is 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the RVC.
Crete-Monee 54, Kankakee 53
Keshauna Pitts scored 23 points for Kankakee in a narrow Southland Conference loss at home to Crete-Monee.
Tabetha Jones added 11 points for the Kays.
Peotone 51, Seneca 33
The Blue Devils nabbed a nice Interstate-Eight Conference win against Seneca, led by Josie Graffeo’s 20 points and nine rebounds.
Mae Graffeo added nine points and 10 rebounds and Courtney Burks hauled in 10 boards in the victory. Peotone improved to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the I-8.
Paxton-Buckley-Loda 44, Central 30
The Comets fell behind early and weren’t able to climb back in an SVC loss to P-B-L.
Caitlin Gerdes scored 11 points, and Rose Ritter scored nine to go with seven rebounds for Central in the road loss.
Manteno 46, Streator 40
Maddie Lacer put up 15 points, 11 rebounds and five steals to lead the Panthers to victory on the road in Streator.
Cam Renchen and Kenna Selk added 10 points apiece for Manteno, and McKenna Skyberg scored nine points and hauled in 16 boards.
Bismarck-Henning 33, Milford 28
Milford came up just short in its home opener against Bismarck-Henning.
Emily Duis led the Bearcats with 18 points and seven rebounds while shooting 12-14 from the free throw line. They fall to 4-3 overall this season and 2-1 in the Vermilion Valley Conference.
Reed-Custer 48, Lisle 23
Antoinette Hill stepped up with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five steals for the Comets in a decisive I-8 victory over Lisle.
Jaden Christian added 14 points, and Amber Duran scored nine in the runaway win.
Trinity 50, Parkview Christian 25
The Eagles improved to 11-1 by doubling up Parkview Christian.
Jasmyne Stewart led the way with nine points, and Ashley Harwood added eight in the one-sided affair.
